In stunning news for Breaking Bad fans, Dreamworks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg has come out saying that he offered to commission three extra episodes of the cult hit and was rejected.
Katzenberg pledged to pay $25 million per episode, allowing viewers to pay 50 cents to 99 cents to view each of the 30 six-minute instalments. “The last series cost about $3.5 million an episode. So they would make more profit from these three shows than they made from five years of the entire series,” said massive Breaking Bad fan Katzenberg.
The proposal was turned down by a group of executives, including the show’s creator Vince Gilligan. The outcome has left many fans, including Katzenberg, breaking sad. Meanwhile other fans are glad that the saga put to rest with a notoriously tidy ending will remain untouched.
